Dingli & Dingli Law Firm at the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show

 

Dr Jessica Galea from the Firm’s Shipping and Yachting Department was in Monaco for the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) held at Port Hercules between the 28th September and 1st October 2022.

Dr Galea attended Marine Money's Superyacht Finance Forum held before the start of MYS, covering topics including the drive towards sustainability in the superyacht industry, how cryptocurrencies and digital assets are changing the industry, different yacht ownership structures, the future of yachting, vat and other legal matters. The Forum ended with an overview of 2022 including market trends (sales/charter), the effects of war sanctions/restrictions. The Firm was also present at the 7th  Fiscal Meeting for SOS where yachting trends, impacts and analysis on the latest yacht navigation data were highlighted. IYBA hosted a Superyacht Law Summit on the first day of the show where dispute resolution in yachting, yacht management in 2022 and IYBA PSA vs MYBA MOA differences were actively discussed.

Dr Galea additionally participated in Quaynote Communications’ event ‘Managing your Superyacht’ also held during MYS 2022 week, where attendees enjoyed a morning of varied discussions. She also took part in a peer-to-peer interview with Fotis Geranios, Charter Manager of IYC Greece, focusing on superyacht ownership, chartering and  possible alternatives.
